Day 46: Fig Tree Crossing to Cliff Head North.

Thursday 09/08/2012 Day 46: Fig Tree Crossing to Cliff Head North.

We were up at 05:30. Outside the van was cold. We packed up in the dark so we could get to Geraldton for our Windscreen appointment. We left the rest area at 07:15 and arrived at MidWest Windscreen Repairs at 07:45. We parked the van in their yard and the car in the big shed. We then headed off down Place rd to the Homemaker Centre about 2kms away. Quick coffee break at Macca’s to update the Blog. We wandered about the shops until 11:00, when MidWest called us back. We walked back to find a brand new windscreen. They saved our Rego & Service stickers and put the Mirror & Go Via tag back. It was a pleasant drive to the Indian Ocean Rd turn-off. We saw trees growing on their sides at Greenough. Geraldton looks like a nice Town. We arrived at the Rest Area at 13:15. There were vans up & down the coast on the sandy track. We got a level park with a nice view of the water & off-shore oil/gas rig that looks pretty at night! Ryan & Les tried fishing but were beaten by the wind & seaweed. Amy found another friend.  We met our nice neighbours from Maryborough Graham & Caroline – avid Bronco Supporters who updated us on the Broncos poor form over the past 6 weeks.

Daily Stats: Distance: 127km, Duration: 5hrsmin, Weather: Sunny, Breezy, Night Cool

Our gratitude to MidWest for replacing our Windscreen and O'Briens & RACQ for making it easy.
