Day 54: Advent Park to Wellington National Park.

Friday 17/08/2012 Day 54: Advent Park to Wellington National Park.

We said goodbye to Glen and were off at 08:45. We highly recommend staying at Advent Park if you are looking for accommodation in Perth. Make sure you get Fish n Chips from Kalaumunda Rd High Wycombe, they use West Australian Fish, tell em Glen sent ya. Thanks to the info on aroundozwith6kids we have found a place to stay whilst visiting Bunbury & Brusselton. We drove down the Kwinana Fwy and along Safety Bay Rd to go along the Coast Rd through Mandurah, what a pretty place. We turned onto Coalfield Rd, Wellington Dam Rd and thought where the heck are we going? The temperature outside the car kept lowering the further inland we went. We arrived at the Potters Gorge campground and were pleasantly surprised. The view of the dam is stunning. They even have flush toilets here! There were 3 vans here before us. It is cold. We noticed water dripping from the front of the van and thought it may be left over from last Sunday. After putting the van up we noticed that our 10ltr water container only had 5 litres. Amanda mopped out the van, luckily no water got into the cupboards. We picked up the free fire wood supplied by National Parks and started a fire in the supplied fireplace near the van and dried out some wet wood. Ryan tried fishing without success. As the fire died down we quickly got in the van where it is 10 degrees.
