Monday 17/09/2012 Day 85: Alice Springs to Devils Marbles.
It was warmer overnight 17 degrees
C at 07:00. Ryan & Les visited the council dump point whilst Amanda &
Amy packed up the van. We headed off through the “gap” northwards. We drove up
to Ti Tree Roadhouse where we had a pit stop and driver change. We topped up at
Barrow Creek Roadhouse where you pay for your fuel over the bar. We stopped and
had a look at the UFO center of Australia and finally arrived at Karlu Karlu
Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve Campground. It was warm so we waited till
15:00 and headed off to look around. We visited the northernmost parking area
and walked around the rocks. We followed the tourist trail at the middle
parking area and then at sundown Amanda & Les walked around the rocks near
the campground. A dingo came out of the bush and sat down in the middle of the
campground. After dark he walked past our van and very close to Amanda who was
outside and who kept very still.
