Day 20: Gagudju Lodge Cooinda to Edith Falls.

Saturday 14/07/2012 Day 20: Gagudju Lodge Cooinda to Edith Falls.

Les is slowly recovering from the dreaded bubbling belly. We tried 5kms of the Gunlom road and after our fillings all fell out we turned back. We stopped at the Mary River Roadhouse for a pitstop and picked supplies at Pine Creek. We decided to stay at Edith Falls. It only cost $19.50 for the 4 of us for 1 night – water, showers toilets a bargain. We set up camp and then set off on the 2.6km loop walk (climb) to the Upper Pool. After nearly passing out from the climb, we then swam in the cool waters of the falls. It was worth it. On the way down we found some lizards that were hunting insects. The temperature is still hot. The wallabies must have big feet, they make enough noise during the night.

Daily Stats: Distance: 248km, Duration: 3hrs30min, Weather: Still Very, Very Hot, 40C
