Day 23: Katherine to Big Horse Creek Campground Gregory National Park.

Tuesday 17/07/2012 Day 23: Katherine to Big Horse Creek Campground Gregory National Park.

Packing up was great but 1 of us was slow out of bed. We managed to get away at 08:35.  The drive out of Katherine through the dark red hills/cliffs of the Victoria River Area was spectacular. We came across a road accident where a caravan had left the road and the vehicle was resting on the driver’s side. Police were attending and we passed an Ambulance coming from Timber Creek. The accident was just after Joes Creek and before Coolibah Station. There were already 2 caravans stopped and assisting. We passed a large car transporter 30 minutes later heading towards the accident We arrived at hot & dusty Big Horse Creek and grabbed one of the few remaining spots. The kids first day at school went down well. Ryan & I fished at the junction of Big Horse Creek & Victoria River. The only action we saw was the snake eating a frog.
